There are many different types of drilling rigs and associated equipment with each type. In the early uses of this equipment, they were semi-permanent structures that were used and then left on site after the completion of the project. Now, most drilling machines are mobile and can be moved to each new project. Drilling rigs and their equipment can range from massive machines that drill for oil to small air-powered rigs that can drill holes in something like a quarry. Each machine can vary with the type of equipment used and the process in which it removes the drill cuttings.
